Tortorelli, a French expat working in Ho Chi Minh City, flew to Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest island, in January 2020 for the third time to enjoy a six-day vacation. During the week, he had rented a motorbike to get around and captured the colors of Phu Quoc.
"I love Vietnam and the people here. Through these photos, I would like to tell people how wonderful the country is. I hope they would help bring more visitors to Vietnam".

Fishing vessels typically return to shore at around 5:00 to 5:30 a.m. Tortorelli said he likes to talk to locals, considering it one of the most memorable moments of his trip.
Tortorelli's favorite activities here include discovering small islands like Xuong, Mong Tay and Gam Ghi. He said these islands boast incredible beauty and are a haven for photographers.

Tortorelli is also interested in taking photos of animals living on the island like dogs, monkeys and chameleons.
He said "Phu Quoc is the only island in Vietnam that he will not get tired of traveling around for a week since there is "so much you can do in a place."

The Frenchman said he used to think taking photos was time consuming. However, three years ago, he took up the "point and shoot" approach thanks to a new phone given to him by his wife.
He then spent hours watching tutorials on YouTube to improve his photography skills and invested in a camera to become an amateur photographer.

Tortorelli captures everything around him. "I think taking pictures has changed me for the better. I've started to observe life around me more, the details that I used to neglect. Now, I tend to find little good things even on my way to work," he said.
