The statue themed "The South in my heart" is a work of political and cultural symbolic significance, contributing to affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over its seas and islands and expressing the people's reverence for beloved Uncle Ho.

The Central Square and Uncle Ho Statue project is built in Duong Dong ward, Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang province, with a scale of 7.45 ha. The Uncle Ho Statue and bas-relief are the most important components of the project.

The statue of President Ho Chi Minh is 20.7m high, with the statue body being 18m, the base 0.3m, and the pedestal 2.4m, made of over 93 tons of copper alloy. The statue and its base are cast from copper alloy with a stainless steel frame inside. The surface of the pedestal is clad with black granite, and the interior is reinforced concrete. The chosen attire for the statue is a buttonless coat with the hem gently flowing in the wind, reflecting Uncle Ho's simplicity and closeness to the people. Uncle Ho's statue places his right hand on his left chest, symbolizing "The South in my heart."

The entire statue exudes the aura of a talented, profoundly wise, and vibrant leader. The overall height of the statue is harmonious with the surrounding space and the sea and sky of Phu Quoc. The statue was cast in the renowned traditional bronze casting village of Yen Yen district (Nam Dinh).

Behind the statue of President Ho Chi Minh is a double-sided bas-relief, 63m long, with the highest point at 10.8m, situated on a 1.2m high base. The bas-relief consists of 484 white stone panels assembled together. The front face depicts iconic landscapes and historical sites from the 17th parallel southward. The back face showcases representative landscapes and historical sites associated with Kien Giang, as well as locations affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over its seas and islands, from Sa Vi Cape (Quang Ninh) to Tho Chu archipelago (Kien Giang).
