The most prominent feature of the overall architecture is the roof steel structure, shaping undulating curves like waves, creating a distinctive mark for the entire project. According to the latest progress report, this item has completed the erection of 13/13 spans of the U axis facing the sea and 5/13 spans of the A axis facing the mountain.
The conference and exhibition space of the APEC Convention Center is designed with an area of up to 11,050m², stand out with an 81m column-free span structure, expected to set the world's largest record. To create a space up to 81 meters wide, completely spanned without any central supporting columns, equivalent to the length of a football field, requires the entire 12,000-ton steel roof system to be calculated, force-distributed, and "hung" from two sides, instead of being directly supported from the ground.

The investor Sun Group, along with contractors, has applied advanced hydraulic jacking technology from Hebetec (Switzerland). This is a technique that requires millimeter precision to safely and stably lift steel spans weighing hundreds of tons to a height of over 40m. Currently, the project has begun deploying the first 81m span jacking.
In parallel with the steel structure construction, the project is being implemented using a "rolling" method, optimizing the schedule across the entire construction site. As soon as the roof segments are completed, roofing and enclosure wall construction are organized and carried out simultaneously, helping to shorten the overall construction time. This approach not only effectively utilizes every construction "gap" but also demonstrates Sun Group Corporation's capacity for organization, coordination, and schedule management on a super-project scale.

In sync with the Convention and Exhibition Center, the multi-purpose Performance Hall category is also recording impressive progress breakthroughs. Currently, the reinforced concrete structure has completed about 85% of the volume. It is expected that by the end of April, the first steel components will be brought to the construction site to begin the specialized erection phase.
Going beyond the function of a conventional theater, the project is positioned as a new “art sanctuary,” a venue for world-class dinner shows produced in collaboration by Sun Group and Cirque du Soleil to accompany APEC 2027 , or future international film festivals and concerts.
According to the plan, the entire exterior of the building will be completed by October 30, 2026, moving towards interior completion by January 31, 2027. The interior completion phase in early 2027 will be the final step to make the project a MICE center approaching international standards, standing shoulder to shoulder with leading global conference and event destinations such as Marina Bay Sands (Singapore) or the International Convention Centre Sydney (Australia).
