This architectural complex draws inspiration from a fictional story about a German captain who arrived in Sunset Town a century ago. Falling in love with the land, he and his wife decided to settle there, bringing along traditional beer-brewing techniques to create the island’s finest beers. Over time, only the aged stone walls of his brewery remained. In the 21st century, a conceptual artist discovered the ruins, restored the structure into a modern beer restaurant, and expanded it while preserving its historical soul. After marrying a local fisherwoman, the artist infused the space with coastal traditions through art installations on display. The resulting design connects past and present, tradition and modernity.
The brilliant red dome makes Sun Bavaria GastroPub glow like a sun by the sea, capturing every visitor’s gaze. The restaurant spans two main floors and a mezzanine, accommodating nearly 1,000 guests indoors and outdoors. A central glass roof and expansive glass walls create an open, airy space with unobstructed views of the sky, ocean, and the iconic Kiss Bridge. Every evening, diners can gaze at the Milky Way while losing themselves in unforgettable joy.
Sun Bavaria GastroPub features raw, industrial-style German beer hall interiors with wood, steel, and exposed brick. Its dense table layout recreates the bustling atmosphere of the world’s largest beer festival—Oktoberfest. The central stage, designed like a catwalk, supports a variety of performances from live bands to aerial acts.
