Notably, international visitor arrivals reached approximately 278,347, an increase of up to 122.9%, equivalent to 13.8% of the annual plan, demonstrating the increasingly clear attraction of the Jade Island on the international tourism map.
Along with the strong growth in visitor numbers, total tourism revenue in January is estimated at 6.128 billion VND, up 140.9% compared to the same period, reaching 13.5% of the annual plan. This outstanding growth rate clearly reflects the effectiveness of the international market during the peak season at the beginning of the year.

According to data from Phu Quoc International Airport, the total number of passengers through the airport in January 2026 reached nearly 790,000 arrivals, an increase of about 34% compared to January 2025. Notably, the number of international visitors arriving by air recorded a high increase, with 214,446 arrivals in January 2026, an increase of 45,550 arrivals, equivalent to about 27% compared to the same period in 2025.
While Da Nang, a firmly established international destination, recorded an increase of over 13% in international visitors in January 2026, Phu Quoc shows outstanding growth with an increase of up to 122.9%. A gap of nearly 10 times in growth rate indicates that Phu Quoc is entering a clear acceleration phase, gradually emerging as a new, attractive international destination in Vietnam.
