Phu Quoc has just concluded its holiday Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse) with unprecedented milestones. According to statistics from the Department of Tourism, during the 9 peak days from the 26th of the 12th lunar month (February 13) to the 5th day of Tet (February 21), Pearl Island welcomed nearly 366,000 visitors, an increase of nearly 30% compared to the same period last year. Of these, international visitors reached approximately 93,000, an increase of over 24%, contributing significantly to the province's total tourism revenue of about 2,622 billion VND.

The most vibrant pulse of the island this Tet season originates from Phu Quoc International Airport . Since standardizing operational capacity, the airport has continuously set new growth "peaks". From the beginning of the year until now, more than 2000 international flights have landed here.
The peak occurred on the 27th day of Tet (February 14), when the airport recorded up to 50 international flights in a single day, serving over 18,000 passengers - the highest level since its operation. Immediately after, on the second day of Tet, the total number of passengers passing through the airport continued to reach nearly 31,000 with 93 domestic and international flights. The application of technologies such as automatic ETC toll collection, WiFi, and 5G coverage, along with optimized control processes, helps shape a modern "gateway", ready for world-class events like APEC 2027.

Sunset Town is likened to an "entertainment capital" with a rich menu of experiences. Here, large-scale show series like the Ocean Symphony and Kiss of the Sea treat thousands of spectators to two consecutive fireworks displays each night, creating a "one-of-a-kind" visual experience. This year, the number of visitors to the two shows has doubled compared to the same period of Lunar New Year 2025.
The festive atmosphere spreads across Vietnamese Tet spaces with activities like spring flower markets, dragon and lion dances, and calligraphy gifting - cultural touchpoints that Western visitors always eagerly experience. Crowds flock to the streets and night markets, jostling to explore the series of culinary and shopping stalls by the sea, bringing a vibrant energy that lasts day and night.

The Hon Thom Cable Car system continues to record a surge in visitors during the Tet holiday, with transportation volume reaching 109% compared to the same period last year. Every day, long queues form to embark on the nearly 8km sea-crossing journey on the world's longest three-rope cable car.
The resounding success of the Binh Ngo Tet season is not only reflected in the impressive figures for visitor numbers and revenue, but also in the qualitative transformation of service quality. Phu Quoc is being enriched with many new tourism products, from shows to entertainment complexes and festival experiences, making the destination increasingly attractive and worth returning to year after year.

The satisfaction of international tourists from major markets such as South Korea, Taiwan, or Europe is the strongest affirmation of the Pearl Island's position. Phu Quoc is taking long strides to become not just a "resort paradise" but also a symbol of a dynamic, safe, and energetic international destination, kicking off a booming new year.
