Phu Quoc – A Private Paradise for Dream Weddings

According to media sources, Abhishek Bajaj and Parasha Dhanda — who met at a wedding in Agra, the hometown of the Taj Mahal — chose to forgo the traditional grand Indian wedding and instead tied the knot in Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s Pearl Island, to realize their dream of a luxurious yet intimate ceremony.

Phu Quoc, with its white-sand beaches and secluded atmosphere, offers a perfect escape from the chaos of large-scale weddings, allowing couples to focus on meaningful moments with loved ones. To preserve the full Hindu wedding rituals, the couple overcame logistical challenges, transporting a horse from Ho Chi Minh City to the island via ferry and truck, and inviting over 20 artists from India to perform — infusing the celebration with rich cultural heritage.

“It was our dream wedding — 1000% beyond our expectations. We truly had time with our guests, and everyone felt connected,” Bajaj shared.

Choosing Phu Quoc not only reflects the rising trend of privacy-seeking modern couples, but also affirms the island’s appeal as a premier destination for highly personalized events — where nature and high-end service blend to create unforgettable experiences.

Phu Quoc – A Preferred Wedding Destination for the Global Elite

Phu Quoc has long been associated with high-profile events, particularly extravagant weddings that attract the upper class. One notable occasion was the seven-day celebration of Kaabia Grewal — a luxury jewelry entrepreneur from India — and groom Rushang Shah in 2017, held at the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort.

From a glamorous "pink party" to a tribal-style beachfront wedding, every detail was meticulously curated, lavish, and deeply personalized.

In late January 2024, Phu Quoc also hosted the wedding of another Indian couple with 350 elite guests. The celebration took place at JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay and Sunset Town, featuring traditional rituals and a dazzling fireworks show.

Phu Quoc isn’t only attracting Indian couples — by the end of 2024, the island was also chosen by a Mongolian millionaire to host his wedding. The luxurious beachfront event welcomed around 150 guests, mostly from the international business and elite community. The couple selected Phu Quoc for its stunning natural beauty, world-class services, and ability to host private, internationally-standardized celebrations.
