Sun Group enhances service quality with many technology solutions at Phu Quoc International Airport
As soon as it took over the operation of the Airport, Sun Group has enhanced service quality with technology solutions to support passengers. The Wi-Fi system covers the entire terminal; 4G/5G signals are strengthened; flight information display screens are added and their interfaces are optimized; biometric check-in is applied. Automatic non-stop toll collection at the airport entrance/exit area is also deployed, contributing to reducing vehicle congestion during peak hours. Cleaning work is also maintained synchronously and continuously, and is increasingly upgraded.

Especially, to enhance passenger convenience, from April 17th, Phu Quoc International Airport will implement an airline check-in model right at the hotel. Accordingly, passengers can complete check-in and receive boarding passes before going to the airport; checked baggage will be received at the hotel and transported directly to the airport for inspection according to standard procedures. In the initial phase, the service is deployed at La Festa Phu Quoc Curio Collection by Hilton and New World Phu Quoc Resort, for passengers of Sun PhuQuoc Airways . In particular, guests staying in the Sunset Town and Kem Beach areas can also use the service at these two hotels. The model is expected to be expanded in the near future, contributing to shortening check-in time at the airport, providing a more convenient and seamless journey for passengers instead of having to arrive at the airport early.
Alongside operations, preparations for the next development phase are also being accelerated. The signing of a strategic cooperation with Changi Airports International in March 2026 marks an important step in bringing the 5-star operational standards of the "World's Best Airport" for 13 consecutive years to Phu Quoc International Airport. Currently, the rough structure of Terminal T2 has reached about 85% and officially enters the stage of installing the roof steel structure. The VIP Terminal has completed 100% of the rough structure, with the roof structure reaching about 60%, showing construction progress exceeding expectations and rapidly moving towards the completion phase.
Upon completion, the airport's capacity is expected to reach 24 million passengers per year and can be expanded to 50 million passengers in the long term. This is an important foundation to meet the strong growth of tourism, and to serve major international events such as APEC 2027.

Early in the second quarter, Sun Group also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with SITA - a world-leading aviation technology group, adding "digital infrastructure" to Phu Quoc International Airport, pioneering the full self-service passenger verification and check-in model in Southeast Asia.
