120 Firework Rounds Illuminate Duong Dong River

Duong Dong River is one of the two largest rivers on Phu Quoc Island, with a main stream length of about 21.5 km and a total river system length reaching 63 km. Originating from the Ong Thay mountain range (part of Ham Ninh range), the river winds gracefully before merging into the vast sea. At the Duong Dong estuary breakwater, Phu Quoc will host a grand firework display to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day on September 2.

According to the plan, exactly at 9:00 p.m. on September 2, the sky over Phu Quoc will shine brightly with 120 rounds of dazzling fireworks. The 10-minute show promises unforgettable moments, adding a magical touch to the Pearl Island’s sea and sky. Earlier, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., an art program praising the homeland and the nation will take place at the Phu Quoc Cultural, Sports and Broadcasting Center, attracting both locals and tourists.

Additionally, Phu Quoc has prepared photo zones combined with historical documentary exhibitions from August 31 to September 2, allowing visitors to both enjoy the festivities and revisit the nation’s proud history. Complementing these are a series of sports competitions, community cultural exchanges, and the photo exhibition “Phu Quoc Then and Now”, creating a lively festival atmosphere across the island.

Special Fireworks and the National Flag at the Kiss of the Sea Show

Besides the fireworks at Duong Dong River, visitors to Phu Quoc during this National Day holiday can also enjoy spectacular fireworks at the Kiss of the Sea show in Sunset Town.

The show begins at 9:00 p.m., reaching its climax with a 10-minute firework performance at 9:30 p.m., joining the nationwide festive atmosphere. On September 2, a special 12-minute artistic firework display will celebrate Vietnam’s National Day, promising an explosion of emotions and patriotic pride.

The stage of Kiss of the Sea holds the Guinness World Record as the largest outdoor theater with the world’s biggest water screen and seating capacity.

After the performance, visitors can check in with the image of the Vietnamese national flag projected across a massive 1,000 m² water screen. This sacred yet Instagram-worthy moment promises unforgettable memories during the Phu Quoc holiday.
