The show, directed by French, is a combination of 8 performance technologies such as laser, water effects, lighting, music, and spectacular performance techniques by over 60 international artists. The show tells the romantic love story of an earthling boy and a galaxy guardian girl, and their battle against dark forces to protect the planets. The audience's emotions are led from relaxation by the beautiful beach to suspenseful climaxes as they witness the terrible clash between the powers of fire and water. From tension and heat as if falling into lava, the audience is then overwhelmed and satisfied by fireworks filling the sky, celebrating the victory of the main characters.
The stage and grandstand complex for the Kiss of the Sea show is built to establish the title "World's Largest Offshore Theater", with a 3-dome stage capable of holding 4,600m3 of seawater, a 1,000m2 seawater screen, a 5,000-seat grandstand, and equipped with over 300 state-of-the-art technological devices.
On April 23, 2025, the show Kiss of the Sea was awarded the title “Largest permanent water projection theater”, by Guinness World Records for the famous show stage in Phu Quoc.
This is the first time Vietnam has an outdoor theater that has achieved a Guinness World Record, and it is the second record for Phu Quoc, following the world's longest 3-cable ropeway for the Hon Thom cable car.
