Oliver Wesseloh, a renowned German brewmaster from the award-winning Camba brewery, has brought his expertise in craft beer to Phu Quoc. With years of experience in Bavaria and other world-famous regions for artisanal beer, he and his team have come to the island with a passion for sharing craft beer culture and creating exceptional brews that capture the unique essence of the local land.
Each glass of Sun KraftBeer Phu Quoc is brewed at Phu Quoc Brew House, following Oliver's philosophy:

What makes Sun KraftBeer Phu Quoc special?
At Phu Quoc Brew House, we follow brewing traditions that are hundreds of years old from Bavaria, Germany. We use only four core ingredients: pure water, malt, hops, and yeast. Yet, with brewing mastery, premium ingredients, and the cutting-edge technology from Braukon, we’re able to transform these four elements into something extraordinary.
We have everything we need to craft beers with exceptional flavors—flavors you simply won’t find anywhere else in the world.
Is there a secret to the ingredients of Sun KraftBeer Phu Quoc?
Most of our ingredients are imported from Germany, with certain hops sourced from the United States. In Germany, harvest seasons consistently yield some of the world’s finest brewing ingredients.
There’s a saying in our craft: “The brewer makes the wort, and the yeast makes the beer.” This means the purity and vitality of the yeast are crucial to the brewing process. Our Vita Prop system ensures that the yeast is in optimal condition for every batch. Our laboratory is also fully equipped to monitor the purity and health of each brew.
Phu Quoc Brew House is outfitted with Braukon’s state-of-the-art brewing system.
We’re using the same formulas and equipment as Camba Brewery in Bavaria—one of the most decorated craft breweries globally—to produce beer right here in Phu Quoc. What makes the beer here even more exceptional is that it’s served fresh, without needing to be transported. Visitors can even witness the brewing process themselves. I believe that alone enhances the flavor even further.
Right here in Phu Quoc, with our team and our equipment, people can enjoy some of the finest craft beer in the world made with the highest quality ingredients.
What are the six flavors of Sun KraftBeer Phu Quoc, and how do they differ from each other?
I’ve always believed that each beer flavor has its own charm and personality, fitting for different individuals. There’s no such thing as an ideal beer for everyone. That’s why we didn’t just create one, but six distinct flavors—and potentially more in the future—to suit a wide range of tastes and preferences.
The six beers we’re currently brewing include: Helles Lager – one of the classic, original Bavarian styles; Dark Lager and Wheat Beer – both deeply traditional Bavarian brews.
We’ve also developed three modern styles: Dry Hop Pale Ale – featuring tropical fruit notes and incredibly easy to enjoy. This is the flavor I personally love, perfect for sipping under the Phu Quoc sunshine. The other two are Dry Hop Lager – a lighter, more approachable option, and Dry Hop Wheat Beer – packed with all the wonderful, rich flavors.
For travelers coming to Phu Quoc to enjoy these unique tastes, I truly believe they will have an amazing time and enjoy some of the most memorable beers of their lives.
What does the presence of Sun KraftBeer Phu Quoc mean for tourism on the island?
