Use of Copyrighted Content

All content, graphics, images, logos, sounds and multimedia information compiled on the Websites (the "Content") are protected under copyright laws, intellectual property laws, other laws and/or international treaties and are owned, licensed or controlled by STB unless otherwise indicated. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, mimic or distribute all or any portion of the Content unless expressly permitted by STB or the relevant copyright owner ("copyright statement").

Notwithstanding the above, STB expressly permits you to use the Content only if:

(1) a copyright notice appears thereon;

(3) the Content is not altered, added to or modified in any way; and

(4) only one copy of the Content is downloaded to one computer.

Use of the Content for any other purpose without the prior written permission of STB or the relevant copyright owner is strictly prohibited and may result in serious civil and criminal penalties.

All software and accompanying documentation made available for download from STB’s Websites are copyrighted works of STB and/or STB’s suppliers. Ownership of the software and documentation remains with the copyright owner and you are licensed to use such software and documentation. Use of any software or documentation must comply with the terms of the license agreement. Please read the license agreement accompanying each product, if any, and indicate your acceptance of such terms before downloading.

The design and layout of the Websites are protected by intellectual property laws and other laws and may not be copied in whole or in part. Logos, graphics, sounds, images or search tools from the Websites may not be copied or transmitted without the express permission of STB.

Symbols and Trademarks

The Merlion symbol and the Singapore Tourism Board STB logo (the "Symbols") are protected under the Singapore Tourism Act (Chapter 305B) and any unauthorized use of the STB Symbols or any close imitation thereof constitutes an offense punishable under the law.

Other trademarks, logos or trade names of STB on the Websites (the "Trademarks") may be registered trademarks of STB. Other product and company names mentioned herein may also be registered trademarks of their respective owners.

STB and/or the relevant owners will take immediate legal action against the unauthorized use of STB’s name, Symbols, Trademarks and other trademarks mentioned herein. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by STB.

Disclaimers and Warranties

While STB endeavors to ensure that the information contained in the Websites is obtained from reliable sources, STB provides the Content and information on the Websites on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, STB disclaims and hereby excludes any and all warranties and implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, correctness, reliability, timeliness, non-infringement, title, merchantability, quality and fitness for any particular purpose of the Content. Any reference made by STB in the Websites to any entity or to their services or products is not an endorsement or implication of any such endorsement of the quality or fitness for purpose of such entity or their services or products.

In no event shall STB be liable for any damages or losses of any kind whatsoever, howsoever caused as a result (directly or indirectly) of the use of the Websites, including but not limited to any special, indirect or consequential damages arising from loss of use, loss of data or loss of profits whether in contract, negligence or other tortious action as well as any damages or losses arising from reliance on the Content contained in or available from the Websites. STB disclaims all warranties that the Content available through the Websites or any related functions will be uninterrupted or error-free or that defects will be corrected or that the Websites and the server are and will be free from viruses and/or harmful, destructive or corrupt code, programs or macros.

The Content contained in or issued on the Websites may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. Information on changes will be added periodically. STB (with or without the direction of the relevant entities) may change, improve or update the Content at any time and reserves the right to modify the Websites at any time.

User Submissions

By submitting content to the Websites by posting on this website or other websites, including any stories, quotes, text excerpts or images, photos and videos contained in any submission (collectively, "Submissions"), you agree to the terms and conditions of the content license for user submissions (the "Content License"). You acknowledge that STB has the sole discretion in deciding whether to use and credit your Submissions. Further, you grant STB the right to pursue legal action against any person or entity that infringes your or STB’s rights in the Submissions in breach of these Terms of Use. You acknowledge and agree that Submissions do not contain confidential information. However, by accessing these Websites, you agree that all activities of accessing and using the Websites and the Content and the Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore.

Specific Terms and Conditions for Use of Statistical Data or Downloaded Publications

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and any of its employees, officers or representatives shall not be liable for any damages to any person, agency or organization arising from any errors or omissions in the data, information, materials or documentary evidence provided in the Statistical Data or other Publications, whether such damages arise from reliance on such data, information, materials or documentary evidence.

Data, information, materials or documentary evidence from STB’s Statistical Data or other Publications are provided only for your own non-commercial use. You may create:

(1) a machine-readable copy; and

(2) a printout of the data, information, materials or documentary evidence downloaded from STB’s Statistical Data or other Publications for personal research, reference or study.

You shall not provide, resell, redistribute, retransmit or transfer any data, information, materials and documentary evidence from the Websites in any form to any other person, agency or organization. You shall also not imitate, alter, modify, edit or perform other operations that affect the integrity of the data, information, materials and documentary evidence from the Websites in any form and manner. Data, information, materials or documentary evidence from this site are provided only for your use for purposes that are not defamatory, unlawful or that will affect the reputation of STB. In the event of a breach of this provision, you agree to fully compensate for all damages and claims for compensation to STB due to the breach of the terms of use of data, information, materials and documentary evidence downloaded from the Websites.

In the event that you wish to use data, information, materials and documentary evidence from STB’s Statistical Data or other Publications for commercial purposes or any other purpose or in any other form than that set out above, please first write a request for STB’s express written consent.

Right of Access

STB reserves all rights to refuse or restrict access to the Websites to any particular individual or to block access from a particular Internet address to the Websites at any time without giving any reason.

You agree that you will not use any device, software or program to interfere or attempt to interfere with the operation of the Websites, use any automated web crawlers and other automated devices or manual processes to monitor or copy pages within the Websites or the Content without the prior written consent of STB, and perform any action that applies an unusually large or unreasonable amount of load to STB’s servers.
